The first Assistances were breakdown services and service centres, e.g. for spare car parts. Specialised establishments such as aqua med offer this service in the international medical sector.
Emergency centres nowadays use extremely intricate technology, including not only state-of-the-art communication equipment, but also databases and medical information systems with access to worldwide networks which provide information on illnesses, crises, hospitals, pressure chambers, rescue services and other details.
Through our aqua med emergency hotline you will have 24/7 access to specially trained and experienced Assistance physicians who will help and assist you further at all times and in any circumstance.

In diving accidents, every minute counts. With our international emergency call service, our Assistance doctors are there for you 24/7. They initiate all important arrangements for you immediately. - The right pressure chamber
Diving accidents can require different treatments. With the help of our worldwide pressure chamber database, we don’t just organise any pressure chamber, but also take into account the technical and therapeutic options of the treatment centres. - Qualified doctors
Medicine abroad and, most importantly, diving medicine, are special areas requiring particular knowledge. The medical team on our hotline have many years of experience in Assistance medicine, primarily work in international emergency calls, and know doctors and treatment options around the world. - Optimum treatment at the right place
Optimum treatment is organised in co-operation with the treating doctor and our doctors. Our logistics department organises and co-ordinates everything from transportation to medical treatment to pressure chamber therapy.

In some diving accidents, special pressure conditions and requirements are necessary in the aeroplane. aqua med also takes these specifics into account.

Sick abroad and worrying about the high costs? You don’t have to!
Medical services abroad are not cheap. Local hospitals are
frequently much more expensive for tourists than in your home
country. Even repatriation costs from abroad by plane are
often in the 5-digit Euro region.
Many insurance policies are often subject to restrictions
so that, for example, only medically necessary services are
covered. Make sure that other sensible measures are also covered.
When it comes to return transportation, there is a big difference
between whether this is only done if it is absolutely necessary
(and then usually almost too late) or, for example, whether
a patient can be moved to a hospital in his home country if
this is medically sensible.
The insurance services provided by the ACE European Group Limited, which are included in the dive card, also cover medically sensible arrangements. For example, psychiatric emergency treatment is also covered. This is very important because most malaria remedies have such side effects.
